Cesarewitch Thoughts...
It's the Cesarewitch tomorrow at Newmarket , making up the 2nd leg of the Autumn double.
The Cambridgeshire at the end of September was the first leg and I had some success with Bancnuanaheireann placed 4th from my two against the field. I had suggested on this blog that he might be worth a small each way interest in the race at 80 ( I managed to get a very acceptable 18 for the place on the machine).
With that in mind, I thought I'd chance my arm with a short analysis of the Cesarewitch in the h…

A Super Simple Way to Increase Your Profits...
A couple of things today....
Firstly, I wrote this article sometime ago now for the Daily Punt website but I've never managed to put it up on Make Your Betting Pay before now.
It's well worth a read - a very simple way to improve your punting profits!
You Have to Haggle
A successful punter should always be looking for ways to improve his margins – in the same way that a successful business man will always be looking for ways to cut his overhead and improve his bottom line.

Just a few things....
Once again, it’s been too long since I last posted. The discipline required to post regularly on this blog is enormous and I have been too easily distracted. In addition, a much needed holiday and the time taken up running two tipping services has made things even more difficult of late.
All of that’s going to change in the coming weeks.
I’m looking to bring in additional writers/betting experts to spread the work load and make this a “must visit” website for anybody interested in turning a profit…

One to watch...
I’ve seen some impressive 7lb claimers in my time but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one get off to quite such a flying start as MICHAEL J M MURPHY.
His names a bit of a mouthful but it’s one I think we’d do well to take notice of in the next couple of months
He managed to score on his first ever ride - Matavia Bay back in early June – and he’s gone from strength to strength since. His full figures are below:

Bursting with pride...
How often is it that we do something that you can be really, legitimately proud of? A bona-fide achievement that you want to shout from the rooftops? It's happened to me only a handful of times in my life.
I'm feeling like that now!
I know it’s considered unattractive to blow your own trumpet but please indulge me on this occasion - I really am bursting with pride!
In July last year I launched my Morning Value Service and added the Evening Value Service as a free extra for Morning Service members i…

Sending out an SMS...
Today we have a post from pro-gambler and betting blogger John Mac, who thinks the time may finally be arriving again for one of the great Newmarket yards:
'In the land of the mobile telephone the letters SMS stand for Short Message Service. In the world of Horse Racing they simply mean SIR MICHAEL STOUTE.
I think it is fair to say that so far this season his stable hasn't really fired. Up until yesterday his tally was 44 winners from 213 runners. Not bad by any means.
But, for the champion trainer…
Course Connoisseurs Part 2 - Update
Today we have another guest post from one of my favourite racing experts, Ben Aitken of Narrowing the Field fame. Take it away, Ben
Course Connoisseurs
Hi everyone. It has been around a month since my first Course Connoisseurs post and today I just want to give a little update on how the horses included in the guide have fared since then (at their favourite track of course) and also provide you with an additional Course Connoisseur from my own personal list.
First let’s take a look at the horses …
The Johnston Enigma...
Today, we have a post from John Mac, professional gambler and occasional betting blogger. Over to John:
"Following stables which suddenly strike form can be a useful tool in any punters armoury. However, the window of opportunity is often a short one and very quickly backers and layers ensure that the value is squeezed out of following them blindly.
Take yesterday as an example for the Mark Johnstone yard. He sent out 14 UK runners, 4 off which obliged, 1 @ 2/1 and 3 @ 8/1.
It would have been a g…

When it pays to bet against the Crowd....
I know I’m singing the same old tune again but I’m a firm believer in the efficiency of the Betfair exchange markets in predicting the true chance of a particular event occurring.
In fact I’m such a believer that analysis of those markets is the foundation stone on which I base all my betting activities.
But there are occasions when the markets get it badly wrong.
At the extreme ends of the markets – and particularly in running – markets lose their efficiency and can become horribly skewed.

The Woes of a Tipster...
It’s me again. I’ve been so quiet of late that I would forgive readers for beginning to doubt my existence. Sorry for the silence – I have reasons but no real excuses.
I’ve been dealing with the horrendous fallout of having a bad couple of months on my Evening Value Service just at the point that I took on a raft of new members (isn’t that always the way).
It’s been pretty galling to say the least.
I know my methods work – they’re backed up by a history of more than 40,000 bets over the last 8 year…
