Trainer Profits in May

Welcome one and all!

Over the last week or so, I've been doing some intensive research on trainers who have consistently been profitable during the month of May and I think I've come up with one who can add some  profit to the kitty before the month is out.

Ann Duffield

Ann, married to ex top jock George,  trains from a smallish yard near the  racing centre of Middleham in Yorkshire.

She is one of the few trainers around who would have rewarded  blindly backing all her runners in May, showing overal…

Higgins and Frankel - A Pair of Heroes?

Apologies, dear friends, are again in order...

Two weeks have elapsed since my last post -I have to admit to being thrown a curve ball by all the recent bank holidays and my posting/working schedule has all "gang agley" as someone famous once wrote. Robert Burns I think it was but I wouldn't put my house on it.

As a result I never managed to put up my World Championship Snooker analysis. The 2 bets I did mention (Dott and Alan) performed ok, both reaching the quarter finals without either of them …

Scottish National Review and the World Snooker Championship

The Scottish Grand National this year turned out to be quite a frustrating race  for me.

I spent a lot of time last week looking at it but was never convinced I had got to the bottom of the race. In the end I had narrowed it down to 7 of the 30 runners - and would you believe that 7 contained the first 4 home! Seems great you might think but really wasn't as wonderful as it sounds. My main bet for the race was Gone to Lunch at 40/1. We certainly got the value with that price as it went off at 14/…

The Scottish National and An Exciting Opportunity

Dearest Readers,

To be honest,  I never expected a response like that! Yesterday, rather cheekily, I asked  readers to complete a survey to help me determine the future direction of this blog. Almost as soon as I had sent out the email, responses started flooding in. Literally in your hundreds, you took the time to complete the survey and put forward some fantastic suggestions for things I can do to make the blog more interesting/useful for readers.

I feel quite overwhelmed by the size of the resp…

Enemy Number One

It's a bit of a hodge-podge, pot pourri of a post today, dear friends. A veritable smorgasbord in which I jump about like a firecracker, tying  up a few loose ends from past weeks, looking at one of my favourite rides of the entire National Hunt season and generally talking up a storm.

Firstly, I'd like to thank everybody who emailed me with feedback on my value finding post last week. All your comments are greatly appreciated and I hope the method is as successful for you as it has been for me. …

The Importance of Value Part 2

Welcome again or just welcome if this is your first time  at my blog - scratch that double welcome to everybody and many thanks for reading!

Apologies are again in order as this post is arriving a bit  later than I intended - some 3 weeks or more to be honest! Cheltenham managed to get in the way as it always does and since then a variety of factors have conspired to scupper my posting ambitions.

Today's post is an important one. In it I reveal a value finding method that has made me a vast percen…

All Over for Another Year

The excitement is over for another year and this weeks feels like a bit of an anticlimax. Before we know it the 2 year olds will be out again.

It was another great festival in which we saw some exceptionally high class performances and a fair share of disappointing ones. Interestingly 3 of the 4  feature races were won by the favourite (Hurricane Fly, Big Bucks and Long Run) but taking those out of the equation the average price of the winners was just over 10/1 by my reckoning and (excluding the…

David Pipe for Prime Minister

Until yesterday it had been a pretty unpleasant Cheltenham for me on the betting front with Peddlers Cross defeated and Time for Rupert looking like something was badly amiss.

So it was with real trepidation that I placed my bets yesterday. The day didn't start well with Wishfull Thinking brave but ultimately not quite good enough. However, I'd had a call from a betting colleague just before the first to say that the Pipe yard were extremely bullish about the chances of both Buena Vista and Junio…
