The Betfair Hurdle

Welcome once again, dear readers.

Today we have a detailed analysis of tomorrow's Betfair Hurdle from Connor Gallagher of trendsbetting.co.uk - I've been negotiating with Connor to come on board for some time now and I'm glad to say we will be seeing a lot more of his work on Make Your Betting Pay in the coming months. Enjoy!

Take it away, Connor:

OK, so first things first, who am I?

Well, my name is Connor Gallagher. I’m 20 years old, and I’ve been earning a very healthy full-time income from bett…

It's been a strange January so far...

I’ve had a bit of man flu for the last week or so and I don’t think I’m alone in that – there’s been some unpleasant stuff going around.

Worse than that however, is the general malaise/lack lustreness (pretty sure that's not a real word but I don't care) I’ve felt since the turn of the year.

Hard to put my finger on what exactly has been wrong but I’ve not really felt like doing very much. The overall feeling hasn't been improved by the weather and the lack of racing it's caused but it's not a goo…

Soggy Old Chepstow...

I know I’ve been a bit slow with this, and I’m sorry, but better late than never…..

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Another year over, a new one just begun as dear old John never tires of telling us.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and is now embarking on a happy and prosperous New Year.

My Christmas was very pleasant – too much to eat, too much to drink, too much lazing around! Much the same as every Christmas - I wouldn't have it any other way. Of course, my Christmas Cheer  would have been immeasurab…

Xmas Tipping Comp Day 2

After the first leg of the competition we have a tightly bunched group at the head of things with another large group sat in behind. With literally everything to play for we move into Day 2.

A quick note about the abandonment of Leg 3 at the Welsh national tomorrow. The meeting has been rescheduled for the 5th January and I think we will just wait until then to complete the competition - I know quite a few entrants have done a lot of work on the race and it would be a shame to let that go to wast…

So here it is....

With the weekend upon us and Christmas breathing down its neck, I thought now would be an opportune moment to thank everybody for indulging me and my little blog over the last 12 months. I’ve enjoyed writing it immensely and if you’ve enjoyed reading it even a quarter as much, we’ve done OK.

A BIG,  BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!!

I have some big plans for the New Year involving the introduction of new contributors/features and a rapid expansion of the number of system tests/reviews taking place on the sit…

Xmas Tipping Competition....

I must be getting old.

Gone for me are the days when the approach to Christmas was a time of glee and excitement. Only one week to go and I can barely raise myself from the chair to fill my glass. God forbid that I shall have to leave the house and join the scrabbling, elbowing throng in the hunt for presents.

I’m definitely getting old!

In my 70’s childhood the thought of years beginning with the number 2000 was fantastical – like something out of science fiction. And yet, here we are with 13 of …

The King of Cheltenham...

I know that the set up and general attitude at the Henderson yard is not everybody’s cup of tea and, judging from reports I’ve heard, I’m not sure I’d fancy being one of the smaller owners at the yard.

However, that being said, I am a big fan of the yard in general and there are many, many profitable angles to be found in the Seven Barrows runners.

Last year I found a very decent angle involving  Henderson hurdlers in December (You can read that article here) – that angle produced a very nice …

Cesarewitch Thoughts...

It's the Cesarewitch tomorrow at Newmarket , making up the 2nd leg of the Autumn double.

The Cambridgeshire at the end of September was the first leg and I had some success with Bancnuanaheireann placed 4th from my two against the field. I had suggested on this blog that he might be worth a small each way interest in the race at 80  ( I managed to get a very acceptable 18 for the place on the machine).

With that in mind, I thought I'd chance my arm with a short analysis of the Cesarewitch in the h…
