One to watch...
I’ve seen some impressive 7lb claimers in my time but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one get off to quite such a flying start as MICHAEL J M MURPHY.
His names a bit of a mouthful but it’s one I think we’d do well to take notice of in the next couple of months
He managed to score on his first ever ride - Matavia Bay back in early June – and he’s gone from strength to strength since. His full figures are below:
When you consider that he hasn’t had a winner in his last 16 rides (6 placed) those figures are absolutely astronomical. Even better than that, the table below shows his performance when backed to 1 point each way in races of 5 or more runners:
Even more profit following him that way with less peaks and troughs. The final table below shows his performance when backed 1 point each way in races of 5 or more runners when his ride is priced at 5/1 or above:
Clearly there's a danger that the horse has already bolted so to speak -he'll be dropping to a 5lb claim any day now - but we sometimes need to take things on trust to get ahead of the curve in our betting.
Our Mr Murphy is currently being massively under-bet and I’m sorely tempted to back everything he rides for the next couple of months – secure in the knowledge that he’s been making a Return on Investment of 157%!
Have a great weekend
