'A very competitive race but with Poquelin heading the weights it leaves 8 of the field out of the handicap and gives them a very difficult job to win in those circumstances. Of those that can run off their correct mark the really interesting horse for me is CALGARY BAY.

He has always been the apple of his veteran trainer’s eye but has seldom delivered to his full potential. This race represents a very realistic chance for him to finally repay, the often blind, faith she has shown in him.

He has a fine record at Cheltenham despite not being a prolific winner and the stable appear to be going ok. The track, trip and going are not likely to hinder him and I cannot let him run loose. He has a fantastic chance at the weights with the much shorter priced Wishful Thinking and it is that particular piece of form that gives him a marvellous chance at the quoted price of 33/1 and an Each Way bet is recommended.
