Trainer Profits in May

Over the last week or so, I've been doing some intensive research on trainers who have consistently been profitable during the month of May and I think I've come up with one who can add some  profit to the kitty before the month is out.

Ann Duffield

Ann, married to ex top jock George,  trains from a smallish yard near the  racing centre of Middleham in Yorkshire.

She is one of the few trainers around who would have rewarded  blindly backing all her runners in May, showing overall profit figures of 54 points over the last 8 years with a win strike rate of 14.9%. Not every May during that time would have delivered profits (about half of them showed a small loss) but the years with losses are small and the years with profits are substantial.

However, when we drill down and look at her runners at certain tracks, we find a much more attractive betting proposition.

If we concentrate on her runners at Beverley, Catterick and Hamilton over the last 8 Mays we produce the following figures:

Again, not every year during the period has been profitable, but it's a much improved picture with only 2 years in the last 8 yielding a small loss.

Interestingly those profit figures can be improved by backing each way (120 points + profit backing 1 point each way), which will  have the added benefit of  smoothing out highs and lows.

So there we have a nice, profitable system to follow in May:

Back all of Ann Duffields runners (in May) at Beverley, Catterick and Hamilton.

This May has started well with 2 winners from 8 runs and a profit of nearly 5 and a half points.

There is a meeting this afternoon at Beverley and Mrs Duffield has two runners:

2.00pm Beverley Beecheys Beauty - Currently priced at around 20/1.

4.30pm Beverley Maharanee - 16/1 in a couple of places.

Obviously both these runners are debutants so caution is the order of the day but I will be having small each way interests on both.
