Welsh National Strategy in Disarray
I had hoped today to give you my detailed analysis and reasons for backing Summery Justice for the Welsh National at Chepstow tomorrow. I had a very handsome antepost ticket at 25/1 on this horse and now my entire strategy has been thrown into disarray by his withdrawal due to injury this morning!
I personally felt this one should be no bigger than 8/1 and that he represented a healthy dose of value at the 20/1 available just yesterday.
So, I won't bother with my carefully reasoned analysis. I will just give you my 3 against the field - I have small antepost wagers on all of these - and though I think most of the value has now gone - here they are for what it's worth.
Synchronised - The sustained gamble on this one has made him a strong favourite and he has connections to be feared. I managed to get a bit of the 10/1 available in early December but I certainly won't be topping up at 4/1. The most likely winner but no value at that price.
Ballyfitz - Some interesting money for this old boy this afternoon and I have had a small each way saver at 20/1. 11 year olds don't have a great record in this race but he has an each way chance. I think he could be shorter than 20/1 come tomorrow afternoon.
Silver by Nature - Probably has a bit too much weight to lug around here but I wouldn't write him off entirely.
There you have it. I haven't got too heavily involved in this with the withdrawal of Summery Justice and I wouldn't advise you to either.
In my ongoing efforts to steer readers towards genuine, time-tested betting websites I thought I'd point you towards one of my favourites (and one I personally have been a member of for years). Apologies for the brief post today - I had written more than 1000 words telling you why Summery Justice was going to win the Welsh National tomorrow - and I haven't had an opportunity to write a replacement piece!
